I’ve recently read a blog online which answered the question above and would like to share it with you.
Reading
My New Year’s Resolution will be that I don’t take any Resolutions hereafter.
It may sound senseless, but trust me you will understand why I said so by the time you read the last sentence of this answer.
Every year, ever since I entered my teenage, I made sure I took new year resolutions. I wrote down my resolutions in my diary and promised myself that I will follow it. But… Let’s be practical! Let’s face the reality! Did I follow those resolutions? Nope, I didn’t. I wouldn’t say I didn’t follow any, but the majority of it, I didn’t.
For many people, regret drives them towards achieving what they wanted to. But for others, who think out of the box, their inner self doesn’t accept the fact. They are stuck up at the fact that they didn’t do what they had promised to.
Some plans do work, if they do — well and good! But some don’t. I’ve had a plethora of experiences of my fate, my life killing all my plans and sub-plans. Life and fate bring in what they have planned for us. If I had to come up with a filmy dialogue, I would state a dialogue from The Princess Swtich — LIFE IS WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU ARE BUSY MAKING OTHER PLANS.
So, I feel it’s better to move on with the flow and not worry too much. If you want to make plans, openly do, but don’t make up your mind that things will go according to your plan. Be ready to face what Life has for you!
Happy New Year!
